Cyanogen announces CM12.1 update for Yuphoria

Few weeks back YU made an announcement about beta testing of Cyanogen mod 12.1(Lollipop) for Yureka and Yureka Plus devices. This news left Yuphoria users confused and they thought cyanogen had abandoned Yuphoria.

Some time back, YU televentures released a stock android version for Yuphoria on Amazon (YU’s online e-commerce partner) and that was another indication that Yuphoria might have been put aside. The rumours for not getting a new android update left customers angry and for a while they have been raiding the cyanogen and YU’s facebook and twitter pages.

But today YU has finally put the rumours aside for Yuphoria user. This post on YU’s facebook page confirmed that Yuphoria is getting a CM12.1 update soon. The beta testing has begun for Yuphoria.

According to rumours, Yureka and Yureka Plus might get CM12.1 update around October 26 and the testing had started last month. So, this could mean that Yuphoria users will have to wait longer for the update.

OnePlus was the first one to release CM12.1 for the first time and it was last month. YU is already late for the update and only two of the 3 cyanogen devices will get the update.

Android Marshmallow updates have already started with Android One and Nexus and soon will be available in other devices. OnePlus One is not going to get Android M update, OnePlus Two will recieve it. We wonder how long will it take for YU to start testing Android Marshmallow will the new CM13 update if it hasn’t released CM12.1 by now.

YU Yuphoria is available on Amazon with and without Cyanogen mod in Buffed Steel and Champagne Gold in open sale at Rs. 6,999.
