Samsung to launch Tizen based high-end smartphone next year

Samsung to launch Tizen based high-end smartphone next year: According to the reports by Samsung Vietnam, Samsung might launch a high-end Tizen based smartphone in the next year. The Company claims that 2016 will see the Tizen revolution. The OS Tizen has been in the market for a while now- on the OEM’s wearables and few basic smartphones. The Samsung Z1 and Z3, which have the OS Tizen, haven’t been able to grab a definite user base as the phones had very low end specifications.

The basic aim of Samsung is to slowly move away from Google’s Android ecosystem and create a new Tizen ecosystem. To expand Tizen’s user base Samsung is thus launching its first high end Tizen based smartphone. With the increased marketing Tizen might take off well, despite its current low PR profile.

Although there is no official word from Samsung yet, however since Samsung has been producing powerful chipsets, a power pact Tizen-based smartphone has been expected for a while now. Samsung’s Exynos 7 Octa SoC has proved to be better than the current processor Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810. If rumors turn out to be true, we might see a complete Samsung Z series i.e. Z5 and Z8 with Tizen OS in a few months. Or it can so happen that Samsung might produce a whole new series with its own proper flagship. One can also expect interesting wearables along with high-end smartphones through which Samsung can show off Tizen’s capabilities.

With Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung Galaxy Note 6 rumored to be launched next year, we feel that Samsung might be taking one hell of a risk introducing Tizen based smartphones in the market along with them. Even though the Tizen based OS is not that popular at present ,there are chances that Samsung might provide a dual operating system feature just like what Elephone is doing or might provide a convenience store to get the OS changed just like OnePlus and Yu televentures provide features to install CM android version or their own customized Android OS. As of now these information are rumored and can only be confirmed once the launch date is near.
