Microsoft Surface Pro 4
Microsoft revealed the new version of the Laptop/Tablet hybrid at the Microsoft event at New York. The design has been refined from its predecessor and it is 30 percent more faster and efficient. It is one of the first devices to run on Windows 10 line up. The event also revealed more Windows 10 devices like the new Microsoft Band 2, SurfaceBook and Lumia 950 series phones.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Design
The Surface Pro 4 hybrid tablet is 8.4 millimetres thick and weighs 1.69 pounds. However it looks much like the Surface Pro 3, SP3 is 9.1 millimetres thick and 1.76 pounds.
It has a display of 12.3 inch and 267 pixels-per-inch. Microsoft claims the Surface Pro 4 has the thinnest panel of Gorilla Glass 4 ever shipped on a tablet.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Performance
Microsoft also said its new tablet will come with Windows Hello, an automatic biometric sign-in option introduced earlier this year.
The feature allows users to scan their face, iris or fingerprints to verify their identity and give them access to Windows phones, laptops and personal computers.
Microsoft also introduced a Surface Pen, which has year-long battery life, 1,024 pressure points and comes in five colours with inter-changeable pen tips.
The redesigned Pen, which attaches to the Surface with magnets, now boasts an eraser at its tip.
Microsoft Surface Pro 4 OS
Surface Pro 4 is one of the first devices to feature the new Windows 10 operating system as their stock OS.
There is a new Type cover with $130 but it feels significantly better than the last keyboard cover. The keys are spaced out more than before, and there’s a bit more depth when you press down on them. Basically, you’d have a hard time telling the difference between the Type Cover and a decent keyboard you’d find on a typical tablet. Microsoft also showed off one variant of the new Type Cover with a fingerprint sensor, which will eventually be available for around $150.
