Microsoft event, held today at 10am EST released out devices like a new Surface Pro 4 which is a multi-touch laptop tablet, Lumia 950 and 950XL, SurfaceBook and a Microsoft Band 2. All the devices are based on the new Windows 10 interface and some new Windows 10 devices are lined up with other partner companies in the future.
Surface Pro 4
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4 is the newest addition to the Surface Pro series which runs the latest Windows 10 OS. It is thinner and lighter than Surface Pro 3. The tablet has the thinnest panel of Gorilla Glass 4 ever for a tablet, claims Microsoft.
It runs 6th-generation of Intel Core processor with a massive 16GB of RAM and 1TBB storage. It also comes with Windows Hello, an automatic biometric sign in option introduced earlier this year.
It can also be controlled with a Surface Pen, introduced with the tablet which has a year long battery life, 1;024 pressure points and comes in five colours.
Microsoft Band 2
The design is totally different from the previous one and changed for good.
It has a curved Gorilla Glass 3 display and a soft rubber bracelet. It also combines some useful apps like Uber, Lose it and Subway.
The MS Band 2 now monitors elevation and works with the Windows virtual assistant, Cortana for reminders.
MS Band 2 is available for pre-order today for $249 (£165) and will start shipping from October 30th.
Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL and Lumia 550
The new Lumia 950 series phones,Lumia 950 AND 950XL have been unveiled at the event in New York with starting prices $549 and $649 respectively. They will go on sale in November. However the Lumia 550 priced at $139 will be available in December.
The specs on the budget 550 had not been released as the event continued.
Both the 950 and 950XL handsets feature a 20-megapixel rear camera, have up to 32GB of storage, 4K video and use liquid cooling technology.
Microsoft said storage on the phones could be extended to up to 2 terabytes using a memory card.
