HTC ONE M9 REVIEW
HTC ONE M9 is the third phone in the M series after M7 and M8,which are recieved well by users and media.HTC ONE M9 offers to deliver the same level of satisfaction this year. The phone’s elegant design and specs have been in talk since they were revealed at the MWC 2015.It definately is one of the best high end smartphones this year.
The dimensions of the screen are same as its predeccesor M8 which is a 5 inch Super LCD 3 screen(full HD 1080p) with a pixels density of 441ppi.It weighs 157g.It runs HTC Sense UI 7.0 which makes the android experience more classy and elegant than other phones which look more cartoonish.
Protecting this screen is the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
The edges of the body are now made up using two metals instead of one in the M8.The metal rear has a slight curve and subtle texture to it.There are several colours but the silver and gold one has a discreet gold frame curling round from the back and matte piece that connects it to the screen.
The big speakers with BoomSound speciality by HTC improves the playback sound while on loudspeaker make it loud and bassy.
The powerful and elegant design is definitely an eye catching feature of the phone.
This time HTC went with the megapixels instead of Ultrapixel technology.
The 20.7-megapixel(5376×3752 pixels) rear camera can capture 4K videos with automatic simultaneous video and image recording.
The camera is fronted with sapphire glass accompanied by HTC’s dual-LED, dual colour Duo Flash.
The camera lacks features like phase detect autofocus which makes it a little slower than other phones to take focus. It also lacks Optical Image Stabilization which will make it difficult to take pictures of moving objects.
No issues with the 4 megapixel secondary camera which shoots at 1080p@30fps and also includes HDR feature.
HTC ONE M9 comes only with Android OS,v5 Lollipop.
The chipset is the latest Qualcomm chip, the octa-core Snapdragon 801.The Quad core processors work at 2GHz and 1.5GHz respectively.Adreno 430 GPU takes care of the graphics.
The internal memory is 32GB and can be extended up to 128GB.There are no variations in the memory as there is only one model.
The 3GB RAM makes it smooth and flawless while running the elegant android interface.
The non removable Li-Po 2840 mAh battery can provide stalk time up to 25 h 20 min on 2G and up to 21h and 51 on 3G which is quite satisfactory.
It comes with quick charge 1.0 which can charge it upto 30% in 10 minutes,so you don’t have to wait long to resume that addictive game you were playing.
The body and design are the best on the block and HTC UI Sense 7.0 is visually stunning and effective in improving the overall user experience.
The camera still requires improvement as it lacks some features discussed above, though the 4 MP secondary camera is good.
The battery life has decreased and may last only a day whereas in HTC ONE M8 it lasted till the second day of use.
The screen is not disappointing but in terms of its colour performance,it is still behind its rival brands like Samsung which provides Super AMOLED displays.
